1. JOSEPH¹ WITT^{1, 2} was born in February 1854 in Berlin, Germany. He married Anna Stephany in 1882 in probably Missouri. She was born in 1850 in Bremen, Germany². She died in 1909 in St. Louis, St. Louis City County, Missouri (Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Cemetery (Old)).

Joseph Witt and Anna Stephany had the following children:

i. ANNA LOUISE² WITT^{2, 3, 4, 5, 6} was born on September 17, 1883 in St. Louis, St. Louis City/County, Missouri³. She died on June 14, 1964 in Chicago, Cook County, Illinois (All Saints Catholic Cemetery and Mausoleum, Des Plaines, Cook County, Illinois^{7, 8}). She married (1) ARTHUR J. EGGERSON on August 29, 1902 in Clayton, St Louis, Missouri⁹. He was born about Abt. 1873 in probably-Chicago, Cook County, Illinois or maybe Mississippi. He died on April 03, 1921 in St. Louis, Missouri (Memorial Park Cemetery, St. Louis, St. Louis County, Missouri¹⁰). She married (2) MICHAEL J. BREW on December 17, 1913 in Lake County, Indiana. He was born about Abt. 1877 in Pennsylvania^{3, 11}. He died between 1930-1940 in Chicago, Cook County, Illinois.

ii. JOSEPHINE WITT^{2, 12} was born about Abt. 1886 in Missouri¹². She married EDWARD A. GOSS. He was born about Abt. 1883 in Missouri¹². He died before Bef. 1940 in Missouri.

iii. CHARLES WILLIAM WITT^{1, 2, 13, 14} was born on May 12, 1888 in Lincoln County, Missouri¹. He died on December 30, 1955 in St. Louis, Missouri (Lake Charles Park Cemetery, Bel-Nor, St. Louis County, Missouri^{15, 16}). He married IRENE ZUMSTEG. She was born about Abt. 1895 in Missouri¹³. She died in 1982 in St. Louis, Missouri (Lake Charles Park Cemetery, Bel-Nor, St. Louis County, Missouri¹⁶).

v. EDWARD C. WITT^{1, 2, 17, 18} was born in March 1891 in Missouri¹. He died possibly after 1955 in probably Cicero, Cook County, Illinois. He married FLORENCE ASHLEY. She was born in Lewistown Township, Fulton County, Illinois.  [Death Certificate]
