He married Rose Anna Garvey, daughter of James Garvey and Rose McCauley on January 04, 1861 in Cleveland, Cuyahoga County, Ohio⁹. She was born about Abt. 1838 in County Down, Ireland^{3, 10}. She died on June 02, 1922 in Norwood Park, Cook County, Illinois (Unknown Cemetery, Prairie du Chien, Crawford County, Wisconsin¹¹).
